Commentary for I Chronicles 17:6

In all places wherein I have walked among all Israel, spoke I a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed My people, saying: Why have ye not built Me a house of cedar?

Rashi on I Chronicles

Wherever I walked among all Israel, I spoke a word, etc. I did not do this, and neither did they spontaneously think of building a house for Me, as it has entered your mind.
